On Mondays, we do grocery shopping. On Wednesdays, we go to the library. And on Tuesdays, we wear pajamas. My children know this now. If we happen to have something scheduled on a Tuesday, they gasp and say, "But Mom, that means you have to get dressed!" We didn't always do things this way. But for this current season of life, Pajama Tuesday is a must. You see, I am an introvert. In simple terms, that means that I recharge by being alone. And let me tell you, as a homeschooling … [Read more...]
2019 Day In The Life Of Our Homeschool
It's time for another day in the life of our homeschool! This was last Tuesday. I had worked at Dunkin' the night before and didn't get to bed until late. For those joining from Simple Homeschool, we are a family of 7. When your kids are grown and they've left the house, what sorts of things do you want them to remember from their childhood? Maybe that's a heavy question for a Tuesday morning. But I was thinking about this the other day, and about what has stuck with me over the years. One of the things I remember most from growing up is the time spent around the dining room table. I remember back when I was just about seven years old, and my brother was just a baby. My dad got up earlier to go … [Read more...]
Why I Changed My Mind About The Instant Pot
For a long time, I resisted getting an Instant Pot. I had several reasons. I didn't want to spend the money. I didn't see the need for another kitchen appliance. I didn't want to learn something new. I hate buying things just because they are trendy. And then, I got one for Christmas anyways. And guess what? I actually like the thing. My biggest reason for not wanting an Instant Pot was that I didn't see the point. I have a crockpot, which I still love, even after the most recent … [Read more...]
