Happy Easter! May you celebrate with joy as you remember that though He died, Christ did not stay dead. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
This week, we got out our bin of plastic Easter eggs. The kids love playing with these, but I try to only get them out for about a week around Easter, because I find egg halves for the next two months or so.
The girls like to “read” to me, which I think is hilarious. The story this particular day was a mish mash of Daniel Tiger, things their brothers did, and baby babbling.
We didn’t do much for school this week, but Jonah came up with this Lego version of our church all on his own! The detail was pretty impressive. Tires for offering plates, the altar in black like it was on Good Friday, and even the communion cups set up.
Interesting Reads from this week:
How To Turn Your Passion Into An Income Stream from The Simple Dollar. I admit, the comparison to WWE wrestling made me laugh at first, but this post really breaks down how to make money off of something you’re passionate about. A good starting point!
No Cabin Needed: How To Write A Book In 3 Months While Living Your Normal Life from Laura Vanderkam. While I don’t know that I have a four hour block of time to dedicate to writing, the idea of making time for something for a short season is definitely applicable to a lot of projects.
3 Reasons Your Read-Aloud Book Is Taking Too Long from Simple Homeschool. We’ve run into this problem quite a bit, and we’ve actually stalled on read aloud chapter books for the moment. Part of it is that we haven’t found a good time of the day yet. May need to rethink that…
Deals and Goodies:
If you’ve been reading for any bit of time, you know that I love shopping for kids (and myself!) at Schoola. Right now they’re running a deal – spend at least $10 on any New With Tags item by 3/31/16, and they’ll give you a $10 credit in your account on 4/1/16. (Note that you cannot use any existing credits on New With Tags items).
If you’re like me, you certainly don’t need any more books to read. But if you’re looking for a good deal, go here for Kindle sales on all sorts of recent books. The page is updated daily, so there’s always something on sale.
